Masterblend water-soluble fertilizers were designed and developed to be used in most hydroponic systems and for soil-grown plants as a root application.
The problem you can run into using water-soluble fertilizers such as Masterblend as a foliar spray is if the growing conditions are hot and sunny, the water can evaporate quickly on the leaf surface and can concentrate the fertilizer. This can cause burn to the foliage. Additionally, this application style can cause blossoms to drop off.
Uptake through the root system is the preferred method to get the best results from Masterblend's nutrients.
