Vertical Farming for the Future

What do three partners from Canada, with 60 years of combined industrial automation experience do for their next project? They start farming!

In 2019, after years of research & development, the team, Ryan, Paul, and Dan, created a complete hardware and software solution focused on growing culinary and medicinal herbs. They were ready to launch and leased their first space. Their 10,000 square foot warehouse was being built out and soon to be filled with growing equipment. During construction, the world was hit hard with Covid lockdowns and the team was forced to continue building the new facility on their own. In 2021, the factory was operational and the facility began its important work.

Today, they are focused on growing a range of herbs for the personal health care market producing some of the purest and sustainably-raised natural plant extracts for use in soaps, shampoos, and lotions. Using incredibly innovative, and fully automated vertical farming solutions, their extracts are made using over 90% less water, land, and waste than traditional agriculture while eliminating the risk of impurities or contamination such as pesticides or other chemical additives.

They also realize the importance of plant nutrition. While using another manufacturers product, they initially trialed Masterblend on small growing systems and were so pleased with the results that Masterblend became their fertilizer of choice for the large growing chamber and in all of their hydroponic solutions.
